Steven Jones

Steven was born and raised in Northern New Mexico. He started as a volunteer with the department in 2010 after moving to the valley in 2008. He served as a volunteer, Lieutenant, and Captain of Station 15. Steven started as the Retention & Recruitment Coordinator April 2020 when he became a member of the full time paid firefighter staff. His current certifications are Fire Instructor 1, Firefighter 1, HazMat Awareness and Operations, Driver Operator and Wild land Firefighter 2. Steven is committed to building the Volunteer and Resident base of the department, starting an explorer program and Fire Corps. program, as well as working to retain the amazing volunteers the department already has. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, son and fur babies exploring the outdoors, learning to fly fish, hunting, off roading and traveling.
