Kira Jones started her career with Chaffee County Fire in 2015 as a volunteer firefighter and was hired in October 2017 as the administrative assistant. Kira worked her way through the ranks to the Fire Marshal position where she handled all the plan reviews, subdivision applications, and oversaw the Fire Prevention/Inspections Department. After serving several years in the Fire Marshal position, Kira was appointed the Interim Fire Chief in late 2024 and was voted in as the full-time Fire Chief in March of 2025.

Kira's current certifications include: Firefigher 1, Firefigher 2, Firefighter 3, HazMat Tech, Inspector 1, Proctor and Wildland Firefighter 1.
