How You Can Support Your Fire District

As a Special Fire District, Chaffee County Fire's funding is not supported through traditional municipality funding like standard fire departments receive, but through Mill Levies and recently through alternative funding sources in Colorado, under Senate Bill SB24-194: Special District Emergency Services Funding

Our funding options for the district are limited due to necessary legislation limiting the funding availability for special districts and because Chaffee County Fire has never requested a Mill Levy increase since it's establishment, we benefit greatly by donations and support from our local community members.

If you are interested in supporting Chaffee Fire, we have a few different ways that you can go about providing your support - financially or through participatory community outreach.

Friends of Chaffee County Fire

"Friends of Chaffee County Fire" is the district's generous benefactor that has supported Chaffee Fire since 2000, when the organization was founded.

Thanks to the Friends of Chaffee Fire's generous support, the district is able to modernize and work dilligently to provide the highest quality of care for our community. Some examples of "Friends of Chaffee Fire" support include: Helping the district purchase 2 drones for the district as well as assisting the district to purchase two backcountry equipped Polaris Ranger UTVs to aid on wildland-related incidents, to name a few.
