Mobile Food Truck and Temporary Structure/Tent

Food trucks, whether operating seasonally or dropping in for a special event, shall have a valid fire inspection.

For the more transit food truck vendors, the Prevention Division does accept reciprocity from neighboring jurisdiction if inspected in the last year.  The State of Colorado will soon launch an inspection tracking platform called IROL for vendors to register and will allow jurisdictions across the state to have access to inspection data.  That said, we may require a spot inspection to ensure the safety of the unit after traveling to the area prior to operations.

The Town of Buena Vista has a permitting process for all food trucks and temporary vendors that can be found here

More information about food trucks and special events vendors in Unincorporated Chaffee County can be access here.

Below is a summary of what a food truck inspect entails, with small adjustments based on jurisdictions across the state.
