Rachel started as a first responder in 2002 as an EMT and firefighter soon after.  She spent nearly a decade in the fire service before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force.  After 8 years in military law enforcement, Rachel took a break to give her mind and body a rest while working in health care.  She holds numerous professional credentials in Fire, EMS, and aviation with degrees in Aviation Flight Science, Criminal Justice, and Fire Science.

Rachel joined Chaffee County Fire Protection District in May of 2025 and has thoroughly enjoyed being back in the fire service, in particular, the Prevention Division and engaging with her local community on a daily basis!
